I went through something similar about two years ago. I love the New York Times, Washington Post, and The New Yorker. I ran out of free articles every month and it was frustrating because I’d be locked out of reading articles I was really interested in.
Then, one day it dawned on me that if I was running out of free articles every month from the same publications, I needed to subscribe to them. Not only so I could read all of their content, but so I could support them and help them continue with their work. I can’t for the life of me tell you why it took me so long to come to that conclusion.
This is also why I recently became a member of Medium. And I feel even more strongly about that now that I’ve decided to publish here, also.
Medium gives all readers a limited number of free articles every month, so the casual reader can visit if they see something interesting in their social media feed, etc. once in a while. But, in cases like yours, where you are running out of free articles on a regular basis, it’s a clear sign you should subscribe so you can continue to read great content and support the platform. Just my two cents.
